Dr. Nelson Charlie graduated with honors from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in 1996. He completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine, where his training included Boston University Hospital, Boston City Hospital, and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Boston. In 1997, he left Boston for Detroit, Michigan to train in Dermatology at the Henry Ford Hospital. Upon competition of his training, Dr. Charlie returned to Boston and was in private practice in Brookline, Massachusetts and on staff at the New England Baptist Hospital for over two years before retreating to warmer climates. Prior to establishing Lauderdale Academic Dermatology in Fort Lauderdale, Dr. Charlie practiced general dermatology in the Palm Beach County area.
Dr. Charllie is also core faculty in dermatology for the Broward Health for the teaching of resident physicians in dermatology.
Dr. Charlie is a member of many local and national medical societies. He is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French.
